Delish-io

Home made Baileys, this is very, very yummy, I love it. Make it every Christmas and thought I'd share the goodness of it with you (is anyone out there by the way?)

3 eggs
400gms condensed milk
300mls cream
one and a half tablespoons chocolate topping
quarter of a teaspoon of coconut essence
one cup of scotch (I usually just use cheap stuff)

Blend all on high speed for one minute.
Refrigerate.
Enjoy over ice on its' own or with milk.

Let me know if you try it.

I'm sure you can tell it's absolutely no good if you're on a diet, but, hey, it's Christmas.

Christmas and the beach

Two more sleeps 'till Christmas.

We went to the beach this morning, bright and early, left home at 7 o'clock, any later than that and it is just too hot! As it was, my back is a little red. Ruby wouldn't go in the water at first but once she went in we couldn't get her out. Luckily we had the lure of a cake from the bakery or possibly she'd still be bobbing about in the ocean now.

It was so nice.............hot sun, not too cold water, sand castles, kids, and Christmas just around the corner, mmmmmm.

Merry Christmas!

Just wanted to add this post as I have a couple of Christmas Grinches in my house at the moment, and I'm just trying not to let it get to me:)
Bloody hell, wish I could figure out this photo placement thing.

and another one

boring I know but all I can manage right now, just finished this. Very 'home made' looking I know, but I like that :)
I actually made it after seeing a very similar dress in a magazine. It was....... wait for it...........$176!! I'm not kidding you. This one cost me, I reckon, around $2.50. Now I know the fabric of the dress in the magazine was probably somewhat a finer quality than what I used, the cut of the fabric altogether better than mine and the overall workmanship a large step up (I mean I guess their edges aren't finished with a zigzag stitch) but, hey, it's for Ruby, and she's two! And she's got dresses made from curtains, tea towels, bed spreads and table cloths..............So I think it will be fine. For the price.

A new dress

Finally finished this dress off for Ruby, I love it. It's linen (I actually bought it new!), lined with an old sheet, the lacey bit is out of a bag of bits and bobs I got at the op shop and the buttons are from a tin of old buttons my MIL gave me (the best thing ever). Crap pictures and the dress needs a good press, but my Ruby is not a willing model for photos these days
OK I'm having trouble with adding pics, took about 40 minutes for me to put these two on, and there nowhere near where I wanted them. Can anyone help? What am I doing wrong?

I'm wireless!!

OK so I started a blog and then dropped off the face of the earth. Well actually my computer died, totally kaput. It had had a long hard life and really the humane thing would've been to retire it a long time ago.
The good news is that I have a beautiful shiny new laptop, it's wireless, and I am loving it! Getting to this point took a bit of doing but the main thing is, I'm here. I mean don't you just love it when you're in the shop asking a million questions before you hand over your precious money for a schmicko shiny 'puter and the guy (it's almost always a guy) who just lives and breathes computers assures that it's 'really easy' to set up wireless and, you know, on the off chance that you have trouble, 'just ring our service centre'
yeah right
I couldn't set it up so I rang the service centre..........she wasn't particularly interested, told me to give it another shot. Couldn't even seem to get her head around what the hell I was asking her or why I had called. That's the thing with some of these computer geniuses I think.........totally out of touch with the rest of us........................can't even fathom that there are people out there who know so very little about computers. She did though, also suggest that I ring my internet service provider. OK, I'll do that
Hangon, they're totally not interested because it's not one of their modems. OK, have a nice day
I found the number for the Technical Help line on the modem box so, hey, I'll give that ago..........umm, they charge $40 for advice related to basic set up of the modem. Well I'm a tight ass and I'm not paying money unless you can guarantee me that you can fix this so let me start again
The service centre of the store I bought the stinkin' modem from. 'They're very busy today, can you try again later?' Of course I can. So I try and try and try. Awfully busy down there.
Two days later someone finally returns my call?
He's unsure what the problem is based on what I'm telling him but outside of his regular work he does jobs independantly sorting out problems like this, he can come around after work. Great.
Turns up that afternoon and sorts it in no time. I have about three thousand photos on my old computer and I'm worried about getting them off there and on to this computer before the old one dies completely. Can he help? Well, yes he can, not right now, will come back tomorrow.
So back today he came, networks the two computers, get my precious pictures moves and even transfers my list of Favourites which is verrrry long. And what does he charge for sorting out all my 'puter problems in two visits over two days?

Forty bucks!!!

I feel like I've found a gold mine. Seriously, I'm putting his number in my address book. As he left this afternoon he said "If you have any more problems give me a ring"
Aha, yes, I will.
If you knew how much trouble I've had with "People who fix computers", you would understand my excitement.

I have a new computer. It's wireless. It's incredibly fast compared with the old beast.
I'm happy.

the debut

OK, time to kick start this blog, I've had the template sitting here for ages with the intention of putting everything on it the way I wanted before I actually started blogging, but I've got so much going on I think I better just start.

My creative endevours are a mess, so I'm hoping this will help me prioritise what I'm doing. I've got sewing projects for my kids waiting to be done, sewing projects for (hopefully) my Etsy shop, some of my mums' crafts to be listed on Etsy, and masses of photography tips and lessons just waiting to be found and soaked up my my brain. Scrapping has fallen by the wayside lately, but I have a couple of scrappy Christmas gifts which need to be done.
And of course, I have a house and gorgeous family to look after.
So more lists to be written, and ticked off.
Today will aim to finish off a dress I started for Ruby weeks ago, back later with pictures.
